We had a great time in early 2016 distributing solar powered LED lights made by Naturally Solar! These lights, which can also be used to charge a cell phone, were a huge hit in Langbos, Addo - an informal settlement with no electricity.
Distributing these lights was part of our larger census project where we went door-to-door to every single home in Langbos conducting an in-depth census to gather information on health, employment, education, safety, and other topics to learn more about the Langbos community. This census will provide incredibly valuable data to help identify the greatest needs and opportunities in the community. We are currently compiling this data, as well as some great footage from this project, and we look forward to sharing more soon!
Thank you to Naturally Solar for your generosity and help with this project! And thank you to the Langbos community for welcoming us into your community and homes-- it was a pleasure to get to know you all better and we look forward to future projects in Langbos!
